Test Drive an Art Practice with the #20for20 Art Challenge
20 minutes a day. 20 days.
[ I’m ready to join! ]
Do you ever feel like you don’t have time to paint?
Or maybe you finally sit down, only to get stuck wondering what to work on—or second-guessing whether you’re doing it “right”?
You’re not alone. Most artists I talk to feel:
Overwhelmed by all the options.
Unsure how to begin (or begin again).
Frustrated by their lack of consistency.
Discouraged by self-doubt, wishing they could just feel good about their art.
The truth is, you don’t need endless hours or a perfect plan to move forward. You just need to show up… consistently, and in a way that feels doable.
That’s what the 20for20 Art Challenge is all about.
“I felt like I couldn't remember how to paint before the Challenge (it's been 40+ years) and now I feel like it's all coming back and that I can quickly become an even better painter than I was as a teenager/young adult. “ - Susan B.

What is 20for20?
The 20for20 Art Challenge is a commitment:
20 minutes a day, for 20 days.
It’s a simple container that helps you:
✅ Build momentum and consistency in your art practice.
✅ Test-drive your own project ideas, so you stop relying only on step-by-step tutorials.
✅ Learn how to create your own direction based on what interests you.
✅ Feel more confident about showing up—even when life gets busy.
And you don’t have to do it alone.
“Because of the last challenge, I stayed painting during the semester---I am a teacher--which was unheard of previously.” - Rose H.

Workshop Week: September 22–30
Instead of jumping straight into October 1st and figuring it out as you go, you’ll get a full week to:
Work through the Starter Guide step by step.
Choose the right materials and project for you.
Audition your setup with a project test run.
By the time October 1st arrives, you’ll already feel clear, confident, and ready to hit the ground running.
Challenge: October 1–20
The Challenge officially begins October 1st. You’ll show up every day for 20 minutes and feel your confidence grow as you learn that showing up is the most important part.
What You’ll Get When You Join

No more wasting half your art time scrolling for the “perfect” photo.
You’ll get 20 thoughtfully chosen images, one for each day of the Challenge, so you can walk into your studio already knowing what to work on.
✨ Daily Email During Challenge
Once the Challenge begins, you’ll get an email with your daily reference. Plus inside you’ll find encouragement, inspiration, and tips. All designed to help you keep going and growing.
✨ Private Community (NOT on Facebook!)
A safe, encouraging place to share your work and connect with others doing the Challenge. No pressure, no algorithms, just genuine support.
“The daily email inspiration and reference images were the push I needed to get out of my comfort zone of copying the process of others and create a work from start to finish on my own. Certainly, learned more in 20 days than I would have learned in a year of casual, whenever, painting. “-Donna S.

Why It Works
The Challenge is short enough to feel doable, but long enough to build momentum.
20 minutes isn’t intimidating, but over 20 days you’ll see real progress.
You’ll come out of it with:
A stack of new work you actually created.
A clearer sense of direction for your practice.
More confidence and less hesitation when you sit down to paint or draw.
Or as past participants have said:
“I had developed a "haven't got time today to paint" ! I feel my priorities are better now, & I can make time.” - Frances S.
“The Challenge really helped with some of the stagnating inertia I can feel in the studio.” — Marylouise L.
“My art practice was in a slump. The challenge really helped me revive it.” - Debbie C.
